• Shift and duty data — clock-in/clock-out times, checkpoint scans, and duty status.
• Location data — GPS coordinates during active shifts for location telemetry, checkpoint verification, and site geofencing. Location is only collected while you are clocked in to a shift.
• Incident reports — text descriptions, severity, and any photos or files you attach.
• Device information — device model, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting.
• Communication data — messages sent through the in-app shift chat.
• Leave requests — dates and reason for leave.
• Enquiry data — name, email, phone, company, and message content submitted via the website contact form.

3. How we use your data

• To operate the security guard scheduling and operations platform.
• To verify guard attendance and location at assigned sites.
• To manage incident reporting and escalation.
• To facilitate communication between guards and supervisors.
• To process leave requests and maintain duty rosters.
• To respond to website enquiries and generate business leads.
• To comply with legal obligations and contractual requirements with our clients.

4. Legal basis for processing

• Legitimate interest — operating security services, managing staff scheduling, and ensuring site safety.

• Client companies who contract our security services (limited to shift attendance and incident reports relevant to their sites).

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and for up to 24 months after account deactivation, unless a longer retention period is required by law or contractual obligations.

8. Location data

The Lunar Security mobile app collects GPS location data only during active shifts when you are clocked in. This is used to verify your presence at the assigned site and to provide real-time telemetry to the operations dashboard. Location tracking stops automatically when you clock out or your shift ends. You can also manually stop the foreground location service at any time.

9. Data security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure token-based authentication, and encrypted data storage. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.

10. Children's privacy

Our services are not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email.
